Wa Huzzī 'Ilayki Biji dh`i An-Na khlati Tusāqiţ `Alayki Ruţabāan Janīyāan Then (one) cried unto her from below her, saying: Grieve not! Thy Lord hath placed a rivulet beneath thee,įanādāhā Min Taĥtihā 'Allā Taĥzanī Qad Ja`ala Rabbuki Taĥtaki SarīyāanĪnd shake the trunk of the palm-tree toward thee, thou wilt cause ripe dates to fall upon thee. She said: Oh, would that I had died ere this and had become a thing of naught, forgotten!įa'ajā'ahā Al-Ma khāđu 'Ilá Ji dh`i An-Na khlati Qālat Yā Laytanī Mittu Qabla Hā dhā Wa Kuntu Nasyāan Mansīyāan Qāla Ka dhāliki Qāla Rabbuki Huwa `Alayya Hayyinun Wa Linaj`alahu 'Āyatan Lilnnāsi Wa Raĥmatan Minnā Wa Kāna 'Amrāan MaqđīyāanĪnd she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place.įaĥamalat/hu Fāntaba dhat Bihi Makānāan QaşīyāanĪnd the pangs of childbirth drove her unto the trunk of the palm-tree. And (it will be) that We may make of him a revelation for mankind and a mercy from Us, and it is a thing ordained. Qālat 'Anná Yakūnu Lī Ghulāmun Wa Lam Yamsasnī Ba sharun Wa Lam 'Aku Ba ghīyāan She said: How can I have a son when no mortal hath touched me, neither have I been unchaste? Qāla 'Innamā 'Anā Rasūlu Rabbiki Li'haba Laki Ghulāmāan Zakīyāan He said: I am only a messenger of thy Lord, that I may bestow on thee a faultless son. Qālat 'Innī 'A`ū dhu Bir-Raĥmani Minka 'In Kunta Taqīyāan She said: Lo! I seek refuge in the Beneficent One from thee, if thou art Allah-fearing. Then We sent unto her Our Spirit and it assumed for her the likeness of a perfect man.įātta kha dhat Min Dūnihim Ĥijābāan Fa'arsalnā 'Ilayhā Rūĥanā Fatama th thala Lahā Ba sharāan Sawīyāan Wa A dhkur Fī Al-Kitābi Maryama 'I dh Antaba dhat Min 'Ahlihā Makānāan SharqīyāanĪnd had chosen seclusion from them. Wa Salāmun `Alayhi Yawma Wulida Wa Yawma Yamūtu Wa Yawma Yub`a thu ĤayyāanĪnd make mention of Mary in the Scripture, when she had withdrawn from her people to a chamber looking East, Peace on him the day he was born, and the day he dieth and the day he shall be raised alive! Wa Barrāan Biwālidayhi Wa Lam Yakun Jabbārāan `Aşīyāan Wa Ĥanānāan Min Ladunnā Wa Zakāatan Wa Kāna TaqīyāanĪnd dutiful toward his parents. Yā Yaĥyá Khu dhi Al-Kitāba Biqūwatin Wa 'Ātaynāhu Al-Ĥukma ŞabīyāanĪnd compassion from Our presence, and purity and he was devout, (And it was said unto his son): O John! Hold fast the Scripture. Qāla Ka dhālika Qāla Rabbuka Huwa `Alayya Hayyinun Wa Qad Khalaqtuka Min Qablu Wa Lam Taku Shay'āan Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me, even as I created thee before, when thou wast naught. Qāla Rabbi 'Anná Yakūnu Lī Ghulāmun Wa Kānat Amra'atī `Āqirāan Wa Qad Bala ghtu Mina Al-Kibari `Itīyāan He said: My Lord! How can I have a son when my wife is barren and I have reached infirm old age? Yā Zakarīyā 'Innā Nuba shiruka Bi ghulāmin Asmuhu Yaĥyá Lam Naj`al Lahu Min Qablu Samīyāan (It was said unto him): O Zachariah! Lo! We bring thee tidings of a son whose name is John we have given the same name to none before (him). Yari thunī Wa Yari thu Min 'Āli Ya`qūba Wa Aj`alhu Rabbi Rađīyāan And make him, my Lord, acceptable (unto Thee). Who shall inherit of me and inherit (also) of the house of Jacob. Wa 'Innī Khiftu Al-Mawāliya Min Warā'ī Wa Kānati Amra'atī `Āqirāan Fahab Lī Min Ladunka Walīyāan Oh, give me from Thy presence a successor Lo! I fear my kinsfolk after me, since my wife is barren. Qāla Rabbi 'Innī Wahana Al-`Amu Minnī Wa A shta`ala Ar-Ra'su Shaybāan Wa Lam 'Akun Bidu`ā'ika Rabbi Shaqīyāan Saying: My Lord! Lo! the bones of me wax feeble and my head is shining with grey hair, and I have never been unblest in prayer to Thee, my Lord. When he cried unto his Lord a cry in secret, A mention of the mercy of thy Lord unto His servant Zachariah.
